Some journeys in life come full circle.
When Bai Xue (such a beautiful name – in English, it means Snow White), my dear friend and college alumna from the University of Minnesota, reached out about finding a new home for her growing family, I knew this would be more than just helping someone buy a house. This was about walking alongside people I care about, with trust, patience, and shared hopes.
I had helped them sell their previous home during a hot market. Since then, we had waited quietly for the right home in a good school district that would truly fit their needs. We searched thoughtfully, never rushing. Then, just before their summer trip back to China, the perfect home appeared, tucked in Sammamish’s Klahanie neighborhood. It was quiet, elegant, and just right.
They made a brave decision: they canceled their trip and chose to believe in the timing, and in me. We negotiated a great price, with the appraisal coming in even higher. Everything aligned.
But what touched me most came after. Since they couldn’t travel to visit family, her parents flew in to help, spending their days clearing the yard, trimming trees, and pouring love into every corner to help them settle in.
Naturally, challenges came up, hornet nests, dust allergies, deep cleaning needs. I stepped in to help coordinate pest control, duct and carpet cleaning, and brought in trusted service partners to make sure they felt supported, safe, and cared for.
Later, Bai Xue told me: “Without your help, moving in would’ve been overwhelming.”
That meant everything to me.
This wasn’t just about closing day. It was about showing up for each other, about trust built over years, and about seeing dear friends step into a new chapter – with peace, pride, and a place to call home.
